Support ME in the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer

Well to many it may seem like a generic request. To some another walk for a cause....blah....blah....blah!!! And to the few who believe in the cause. Well the women in my family have suffered from some type of cancer (ovarian mostly). Ever since I was little I can recall one incident. In 3rd grade, I remember Margarita, my moms only friend. She was diagnosed with cancer and did not realize she had it, until a year later. She under went chemotherapy. The cancer began to run off into oblilvion. And it did for a while. Unfortunately, a year and a half later, she began to pull away from our family, and we received a call from her husband one day.

My dad was at home, while my mom, brother, and I went to church. We came back happy, we were even joking around. My dad told my mom that Margarita had called her. My mom was ready to call her back when my dad said that it was Margarita's husband who called. He told her that Margarita had passed away. That happiness we all walked into the house with, vanished. I remember going to her house and she would pull out some typical Latino bread. My favorite, "Concha". Sugar is always good for the soul! She would warm it up and give up ice cold milk. That was great! But she is truely missed!

I have seen a friend suffer from Brain cancer in High School and have her withdraw from friends because she did not want anyone to see her in her "weak" state. Anyone who can go through any type of pain or obstacle, that is strength to me. Physical and mental strength! Needless to say, I never heard from her again. I pray that she is well.

My aunts, grandma, and two cousins had Ovarian Cancer and had their reproductive organs removed. My grandma and my two aunts were diagnosed in their late 40s, but my cousins were diagnosed in their late 20s. My mom and I have been blessed thus far, but it creates an awareness of those whom you know that could possibly have some sort of cancer.

I have never walked or ran for a cause. I barely make it to the gym, but i vow to dedicate myself to this cause and to the many more that I will support! I will dedicate my Fridays through Mondays to the gym and get myself together, since I have class on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I have motivation and dedication.

If you would like to share your stories, feel free to do so! And to those who were supportive to those who feel in the arms of some sort of Cancer or any disease or illness, I commend you! It takes effort, patience, and most importantly Love!

This is my website if you would like to Donate a little something!!!! Anything helps!!!
